Optical coherence tomography (OCT)

OCT machine. OCT is an extremely advanced 3D scan of the eye for people of all ages. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test that uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina, the light-sensitive tissue lining the back of the eye. This allows us to illustrate the different layers that make up both the front and back of the eyes. With OCT, each of the retina’s distinctive layers can be seen, allowing to map and measure their thickness.

These measurements help with diagnosis and provide treatment guidance for glaucoma and retinal diseases, such as diabetic maculopathy, Macular hole, mac ular pucker and age related macular degeneration.
